Tae, meaning to kick or jump; Kwon, meaning fist or hand; and Do, which means “the way.” It can be thought of as “The Way of the Hand and Foot.” ITF stands for International Taekwon-do Federation. Founded on March 22, 1966 by General Choi Hong Hi in Seoul, South Korea.
